Broadway F.C 3 - 1 Bar Amp
On Tuesday, Newly crowned champions Broadway F.C faced Bar Amp in their final game of the season, although the league was won, Ken Ramsbottom still fielded a very strong line up, obviously wanting to go out on a high. James Ginder started at left back, Gary Looker started at left midfield and Marek Adamiuk started upfront, with Kyle Denton, Ken Ramsbottom and Mickey McGonigle on the bench.
Broadway started brightly and won a free kick on the right hand side, up stepped Marek Adamiuk who fires an unstoppable shot into the top left hand corner, keeper had no chance.
Shortly after Bar Amp punt a ball over the top to Oli Babbington who turns and volleys from outside the area leaving Antony with no chance. 1-1
25 minutes into the 1st half and things looked bad for Broadway as Jonathan Moran was sent off for a challenge on the keeper. Half time 1-1.
2nd half and changes are made. Marek Adamiuk is replaced by Kyle Denton and Gary Looker is replaced by Mickey McGonigle. Although down to 10 men Broadway still pressed for the lead, Elliott who seemed to be everywhere steals the ball from the Bar Amp defender and feeds Gary Rowbotham, usually a cool finisher he pulls his 1 on 1 effort with the keeper wide. A Sitter!
Injury! James Hayes goes down clutching his leg, which looks like a hamstring injury, James is replaced by Ken Ramsbottom who slots in at centre back.
Half an hour gone in the 2nd half an Kyle Denton is fouled 25 yards out, with Marek Adamiuk subbed, up steps Gary Rowbotham, looking to lay to rest his previous miss, bends it over the wall and into the top right hand corner, the keeper must be sick of Broadway free kicks. Another unstoppable effort and his 30th goal of the season. 2-1 (See Below)
With only 5 minutes remaining, Kyle Denton picks up a loose ball on the left, races past the Bar Amp defender, takes on the goal keeper and nut megs the defender on the line! Perfect finish to an almost perfect season. 3-1. With 10 men. Only 1 league loss all season.
Man of the Match was awarded to John Gilmartin, who filled in at centre back and put in a colossal performance yet again.
