Bricklayers 0 - 3 Broadway F.C

Broadway took on local rivals Sale Excel in the scheduled home game which was played on away soil.

On a gorgeous day and a perfect pitch unfortunatly the game didnt match the conditions. Broadway Player

Broadway started the better of the 2 teams although everybody keen to impress due to the large numbers who turned up.

Some excellent football was played but the killer ball was lacking, not many chances created and when a chance came along, Drinky in the Sale Excel goal was in inspired form.

Midway through the 2nd half Drinky was finally beaten only for the referee to chalk off the effort for offside, although spectators say the goal should of stood.

At the other end Sale Excel had a penatly shout waved away from the referee. All in all a fair result.

The ref finally blew for full time, the result was not enough for Broadway to be crowned champions. Broadway lie 2nd in the table on goal difference, only a point is needed against the Bricklayers next week.

John Gilmartin (pictured) was awarded Man of the Match.
